If I have Photoshop maximized and switch desktops, the tool windows stay active on the other desktop. Check the screenshot below.

I notice another thing that happens with Photoshop CS3. If you have the program running on the main monitor, and open an image file, and then open a second image file, it moves the first image file to the second monitor, aligned to the bottom left of the monitor. If you click on the title bar of the window on the second monitor, then the two images swap positions, the one that was full screen in the main photoshop program now moves to a window on the secondary monitor.
The kicker is it seems to only happen the first time you open Photoshop. I'll try to narrow down when and how it happens, but give it a go and see what you see.

We have checked this issue but failed to reproduce it. Please could you specify the sequence of actions as exact as possible? Also please specify the initial conditions:
- which state the main Photoshop window is in - normal or maximized
- which state the image windows are in - normal or maximized
- what AWM extensions (such as Windows Layout, Console Windows Support, Virtual Desktops) do you have enabled

I don't have any specific setting for Photoshop in AWM, other than default settings of title buttons of Stay Always on-top, Move to Monitor (next, keep aspect ratio). Window menu all options selected.
I open Photoshop and maximize the window with the default windows buttons but I don't think it necessarily has to be maximized (I think stranger things happen if you don't have the main window maximized), select file open and open a graphic file. Maximize the graphic window that you just opened. Then, immediatly open another graphic, the first opened graphic moves to the secondary monitor as a window.
I can repeat those steps with the same effect.

Sorry but we still can't reproduce the issue. Please send us your configuration, may be, it will shed some light on this problem. Otherwise, you might have something specific in your software environment that causes such undesired effects in Photoshop.
