I'm looking to buy a second hand monitor to go with my new 22inch (Wide) monitor. The second hand 17 inch monitors are very cheap. I was thinking that I could use one of these if I mounted it sideways because the pixel width of the monitor would accommodate the pixel height of my new 22 inch.
The only remaining problem is turning the image sideways. I know some monitors will do this (ones with a rotate function) but most will not. Could AWM offer this in Desktop profiles?? I don't know if this possible outside the display driver but wouldn't it be powerful to have a desktop profile where one monitor is specified to display sideways.

Greg, the requested feature is partially implemented and will be available in the upcoming beta 3.
"Partially" means that it may not work with a particular "videoadapter-videodriver" combination. The necessary condition is that videodriver should explicitly report about its rotation capabilities to OS; in other words, the list of supported video modes should contain appropriate entries (for example, 768x1024 for the "portrait" orientation).
If your video adapter allows such way of display rotation, you will see the additional "Display Orientation" group of controls on the .
The fully functional solution requires a direct call to certain video driver function. For now, we can't afford this approach, sorry.  Possibly, in the future we will add the driver support for adapters from the most popular vendors (like Intel, Nvidia, ATI/AMD, Matrox).
