The latest beta version adds the Windows Search Button to the Taskbar. Any way to get rid of it? It's not pinned to the Taskbar. If you right-click on it you don't get the usual jump list options. I'm running Windows 8.1 64-bit with the latest patches and updates installed.

Thank you, Mow. I was wondering where that icon had come from. It looks like a bug on my system (Win 7 x32). Clicking on the icon brings up an error message (see below). Like you, I can't remove it.

Hello gentlemen,
Thanks for the post.
Moe, the Search button can be disabled in the multi-monitor taskbar through its context menu (i.e. right click on the taskbar -> Show the Search button) and in the native taskbar through the Configuration window (Multiple Monitors -> Taskbar -> Search).
Greg, are you getting the same error message after hitting Win+F ?
Best regards.

Vasiliy,
YES, if I type Win/F I get the very same message.
I should have said I'm using the latest a beta (8.3 beta 3).
I don't know if this is helpful: I was having some other problems and I backtracked by un-installing AWM. (AWM is not related to my other issue.) When I re-installed AWM the search icon immediately appeared on the task bar.

Greg,
Most likely, the "opens Find files and folders" command isn't correctly adjusted in your OS. You could unload Actual Window Manager and hit Win+F to confirm this.
I specified how to disable these taskbar buttons in my previous reply.
Best regards.

Vasiliy,
Found it. The option does turn off the Toolbar 'Search' feature. It is in the section labeled, 'Windows 10 Buttons on the System Taskbar'.
Several comments:
1. This option was on by default in beta 3. This is new and could be confusing to users that don't know about it. It certainly caught me unaware.
2. The option is in the section for Multiple Monitors but I would not have thought to llok there as I have only one monitor at the moment.
3. In the Multiple Monitors section, the option is in a section marked Windows 10. As I'm using Windows 7 I wouldn't expect that section to apply to my environment.
All this can be rectified by changing labels and location of the option.
Vasiliy, thanks for helping me out.
