I don't know what it is but Actual Multiple Monitors causes all of the windowed apps on my desktop to stutter every half second or so. It's very uncomfortable to use my computer like this. I end up having to stop Actual Multiple Monitors to fix the issue but I am curious if there is a way to fix it without having to do this!

To be more precise, I am running Windows 8.1 64 bit. The stutter that I am getting is a slight lag every half second which makes it hard to use Chrome, Steam, Skype and other programs. Fullscreen applications are not affected by this issue.

Could somebody please help me with this issue?

P.S. I opened up a similar topic in the past where I thought that it was only Chrome that was affected but finding out that it's basically all of the windowed applications, can I ask someone to remove that old topic?

Hi Dawood,

Have you updated your video driver to the most current version?

I'm assuming that Chrome, Steam and Skype -- it's the video playback that is shuttering every 500 milliseconds or so. Is the shuttering a skipping of frames or it stops momentarily and then continues?

Sincerely,
Lars

As far as I am aware, I do have the latest driver installed on my system. I could try to install a beta version.

It's not even that, all the activity in the window is affected by the stutter. All this is leading me to believe that it's a problem with the program but no one else on this forum has had this problem so I don't even know.

Dawood,

I wouldn't try a beta version of the video drivers as of yet.

I've never seen or heard of the problem you are experiencing. However, that doesn't mean it isn't either.

Have you "Stopped" AWM?

Right-click on the AWM icon in the SysTray Notification Area and sel ect fr om the drop down menu "Stop". Now test each of your application which is displaying the shutter problem. Does it still exist or is it now working as expected/desired?

Sincerely,
Lars

I probably should have mentioned that I HAVE done this and the problem does stop so it must mean that whilst the program is working it causes the stuttering problem. I tried reinstalling the program but to no avail, it still persists.

Is the "Default Settings" checked? If so uncheck it and apply. Does the shuttering continue?

Sincerely,
Lars

Where would I find the "Default Settings" setting?

AWM > Window Settings > Default Settings

Uncheck the check box in the tree view for Default Settings, AND then at the bottom-right click on the OK button.

Test the Shutting. Is it corrected?

Sincerely,
Lars

Since I'm using Actual Multiple Monitors and not Actual Window Manager, I do not have this option.

Okay,

I'd look under the Options > Windows Snapping and DISABLE "Classing" and "Aero Snap" and CHECK the "Disable the native Windows 7 Snap" if possible then bottom-right click OK.

Shuttering?

Sincerely,
Lars
