Hi,
Can you confirm if the feature "Pin to Desktop" is working with Windows 7?
I alreasy tried this feature with several programs and all window hide after click to pin.

Unfortunately, it is an incompatibility the feature "Pin to Desktop" and Aero theme.

Today testing a cool weather gadget (standalone software, not related with Windows vista/7 gadget feature) I found an option to pin to desktop (right click > 'pin'). Works very well, you can hit win + d or click in 'show desktop' button many times, but the weather window keep in front.
Since this program is open source, maybe your team can study the code to understand how to implement it, then finally fix the actual bug in AWM.
